Many individuals who are obese have tried to lose weight many times and have failed. If a person fails many times at something they feel hopeless and may give up. Weight loss is difficult and everyone needs support.

Clinical psychologists are experts at behaviour change and can best support obese individuals with their weight loss efforts and treat any underlying problems.

A referral is not needed. However, to claim a Medicare Rebate you must have a referral and treatment plan from a GP, paediatrician or psychiatrist.
