Auburn Diabetes Initiative

The Auburn Diabetes Initiative is a cross-sector collaboration designed to improve diabetes prevention, early detection, and management of type 2 diabetes in one of Australia’s most culturally diverse areas in Cumberland City: Auburn.

This initiative brings together Federal, State and Local governments, business, community sector and community champions to deliver culturally responsive diabetes awareness.

The initiative was launched in July 2025 at a forum opened by Councillor Ola Hamed, Mayor of Cumberland City.
